- The Plain 5 date type, though not noted on the holder. This is a resplendent PQ GEM in every sense. A bold orange-red coloration is brought out vividly by an exceptional luster. Sharply struck and ultra eye appealing, this coin is a great representative of this date and type. PCGS 40, NGC 27, CAC 24. Prior to the one we sold in Regency Auction 55, one sold for $7,800 in June 2021. This coin sold for $6,325 back in the 2009 FUN auction. Clearly neither of the published price guides take those figures into account. With just a handful graded finer at PCGS in the RD category, this PQ GEM is worthy of a very carefully selected type set or Registry Set of two cent pieces. Cert. Number 12413372 PCGS # 3584
