FROM THE MERIDIAN COLLECTION A wonderfully reflective borderline SUPERB GEM 1890 Proof nickel, ranks among the finest graded and we doubt many can hold a candle to the quality and eye appeal of this boldly contrasted beauty. Ultra deep, beaming mirrored fields are the epitome of brilliant clarity. The eye appeal is essentially that of a DCAM. PCGS 20, NGC 22, CAC 11. There are just seven graded finer in the CAM designation. We cannot find a record for this coin having sold in auction, but we can tell you the eye appeal is superior to the PR66+ CAM CAC that we sold in June 2019 for $2,468; indeed, it looks superior to the example that sold in November 2017 for $3,960.
