1866 Liberty Seated Half Dime. MS-66 (PCGS). Beautifully toned in mottled multicolored iridescence, this is an enchanting example to represent an elusive early Reconstruction era issue. Lustrous with a satin to modestly semi-prooflike finish, both sides are also fully struck from the rims to the centers. Only 10,000 half dimes were produced in 1866 for intended circulation, as hoarding silver coins was still a fact of life at the time.
