- The coin with handsome russet tab toning on the obverse, dusky antique gold tinting on the reverse. The holder with wear to the tabs, although it is intact. The Karolton Klasp mailer is addressed to a Marjorie Black of Watertown, Connecticut, is postmaked over two stamps, and has registration number 26100. It is missing the flap for sealing, but is otherwise crip and well preserved. The letter is on Columbia Sesqui-Centennial Celebration stationary, is signed by Commission Chairman James H. Hammond, and expresses regret and offer thanks to clients for delays in filling orders for these commemorative half dollars. The letter has been folded in half vertically, and into thirds horizontally, but it is otherwise fairly crisp. The tab holder, mailer, and the (3) Columbia wooden nickel flats are pictured in the 2012 reference Encyclopedia of Commemorative Coins of the United States by Anthony J. Swiatek, pp. 325-326. (Total: 1 coin; 6 supporting items)
