详细说明: An incredible GEM example of this rare Proof Flying Eagle cent, bearing approval from both CAC and Eagle Eye, attesting to the quality, originality, and eye appeal. The short lived Flying Eagle series is quite the challenge in Proof with low mintages across the board. Of the approximately 200 Proof Small Letters struck, PCGS CoinFacts estimates 80 survive in all grades. Richly reflective, totally original surfaces have a gorgeous blend of olive and lilac highlights over golden-tan surfaces. The reflection beams all over when rotated in a light. The devices are sharply struck up and stand out boldly against the surrounding fields. Even with a strong glass, we fail to locate even a single tiny fleck or tick that is worthy of mention. The eye appeal is excellent. Only 200 were struck. PCGS 9, NGC 4, CAC 5. Do not let the CAC Pops fool you, only a single CAC approved example ever sold in auction, a GEM from the Gene Gardner Collection, which realized $35,250 nearly six years ago. Just four are graded finer, only one of which ever sold in auction, a PR65+ CAC that sold in our June 2015 Regency Auction. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $25,000 but we suspect this one will bring more when it crosses the block.
